This privacy policy applies to russmatthewsshow.com, operated by Russ Matthews. I take your privacy seriously and am committed to handling your personal information responsibly, in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

2. What I Collect

  • Account information: Your name, email address, and profile photo when you sign in with Google.
  • Purchase information: Your email address and transaction details when you buy the course or subscribe. Payment card data is handled entirely by Stripe — I never see or store it.
  • Usage data: Course progress (which lessons you've completed), chat messages you post, and questions you ask on lessons.
  • Technical data: Basic analytics (page views, referrers) via Vercel Analytics. No third-party advertising trackers.

3. How I Use Your Information

  • To provide access to course content and membership features you've purchased.
  • To verify your purchase and manage your subscription.
  • To respond to questions you submit on lessons or via email.
  • To send transactional emails related to your account (receipts, access confirmations).
  • I do not sell your data. I do not use it for advertising.

4. Third-Party Services

I use the following services to operate the site. Each has its own privacy policy.

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Google (Firebase + OAuth) — authentication and database
  • Bunny.net — video hosting and delivery
  • Resend — transactional email
  • Vercel — hosting and analytics

5. Data Retention

I retain your account and purchase data for as long as your account is active or as required for legal and accounting purposes. Course progress and chat history are retained indefinitely to preserve your experience. You may request deletion at any time.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, email russell@askrussell.ca. I will respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies

This site uses session cookies required for authentication (NextAuth). No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are used.

8. Security

I use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS, Firebase security rules, and Stripe's PCI-compliant payment handling. No system is perfectly secure — if you have a security concern, please contact me immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

I may update this policy as the service evolves. I'll update the date at the top when I do. Continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept the revised policy.
